Title: Slow tonight
Post by: cyprio42 on Feb 15, 2010, 21:17:27
hi
things are slow tonight. I went from 3.6 to 0.68mbps. Took me ages to get on here, must be something wrong somewhere.

Router stats, and a BT Speedtest (http://test.speedtester.bt.com:50301/), please, then someone should be able to help you.  :thumb:

Yep, as Simon has said without those we can't even start to guess what the problem could be. Personally my line is flying along as always and there hasn't been any other complaints, so it seems to be a regional or localised problem.

No problems, currently downloading a large file at my normal speeds.

Posts like these are of no help whatsoever

It's the same as saying "WOW I looked in the mirror and I'm still absolutely GORGEOUS!!!"

Guess what? Speeds on IDNET tonight are garbage. <- That's a full stop.

There's a word.

It rhymes with hit

Posts like the two above are of no use either, without router stats and a BT Speedtest.

Further, I suggest, if you would like some help here, that you observe the Forum Rules (http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=18379.0), and your posts become a little more respectful towards other members.

I have to disagree, confirmation of an issue (or otherwise) can often give an indication of whether the problem is within IDNet's domain, a BT issue, local to the exchange or simply a problem with a user's line/equipment.

Like others that have posted, I'm not having any issues tonight myself so it could be a local issue.

Posts like this are of no use, and not how this forum operates. I will agree again with Zappa, we confirm if we are having issues and then build up an idea of where the issue is occurring, if at all, if many people have an issue Idnet will be called and the situation remedied. Its worked before and will work again, no issue with speed with myself tonight either. So it may be a local issue as has been stated.

hi
I wasn't complaining, just getting involved in the forum a bit more. Anyway its back to what it was this morning :thumb:, could be something to do with me just moving to adsl2+ maybe.

There's a training period for ADSL2+ so you may see some instability in the first few days, your router stats will show any change in downstream sync and noise margin
