Users may have noticed a small outage just after 2pm. Something at IDNet fell over for a few minutes, all is well again now though.
If you can read this, you probably don't need to be told :) , but if you have trouble re-connecting, then re-boot your router.
Ah so that's what it was.
What fell over? :D
Probably Simon, given his bad back last week. :)
They didn't actually tell me what it was, sorry, just that it was sorted. Given the down time, it can't have been anything too major.

I had trouble re-connecting but didn't know I had to reboot my router because I couldn't see your explanantion on here about rebooting my router, because I was not connected. ;D ;D ;D :banana2: :banana2: :banana2: :out:
Hello Cav
I just knew when I posted that that I was a hostage to fortune!

I didn't know Simon had been away let alone he was back badly. ;D ;D
I take it, it keeps falling over!!
Lost connection 4 times in 1.5hrs. :-\
It's just fallen over again here as well :o
I can see this message, after rebooting my router :P had another dropout for about a minute after getting home from nursery with Sammie- that was around 3.30pm (but that didn't require a router reboot- just a disconnect/reconnect). Apart from today, things are actually improving a bit this end- I can actually talk on msn again :P
Yep, just dropped here for a short time ..:(
happened a second time to me, just back now
It's because the new central is now online, see Simon's post up in Announcements! Yippee!!! :banana2: :banana2: :coffee:
Is the new central 155Mbps or 622Mbps? If it is 622Mbps; how many segments have been activated? :whip:
Adam
Hmmm I thought it was supposed to get better not worse though.

Sry if I'm sounding huffy but I've just had a very embarrassing afternoon when someone came round especially for me to some work for them which included downloading....but no internet = no work!

Indeed so. A Moderator is a target, a Global Moderator is a large target.

I was
always a large target. :)
"Sorry for the interruptions today. The last bit of work on the new Central was not due to cause network interruptions but did Sad
The good news is that the work is now complete Smiley
Regards
Simon"
It does not say that the new central is live at all. The last bit of "work" may of been done - but thats not live :)
Well, that's what I was told by Simon, Avenger. I know he was writing that post in a hurry, between dealing with the outage that wasn't supposed to happen, and the aftermath of people getting hit with stale sessions.
"Well, that's what I was told by Simon, Avenger."
Ah - i didnt know that part ;)
I like to keep an air of mystery, as distinct from misery. :) Actually, I'd forgotten it wasn't spelled out in Simon's post, sorry. :(
things improved at my end, me at the highest score kicked a** on Unreal Tournament with a ping off 16 ms
nice ;D
even though I ping www.idnet.net at 30 ms
figure that out :-\
Another big disconnect- restarting router didn't help, but logging into the speedtest and then back into IDNet did.
I hope all these bugs are sorted out soon :)
all ok my end, thanks to the guys on the phone for their help :)

Surely the last bit of work to do with a new central would be to move the users on to it? Once that is done there is nothing else to do!

Seems so!
Im sure they havent done it yet, usual ping problems - although not as bad as they were before the weekends upgrades!
I'm pinging fine here ~30ms
nvm - its back to normal now!
