It is a worry perhaps naively one expects add ons from their site to be safe.

I try not to get involved in the 'My browser is safer than yours' arguments as I believe that alll browsers have faults and much of the problem is the user...but somehow I think that had this been IE it would have been front page news on the BBC website.

I agree, there is a good deal of IE bashing going on, but I suspect most BBC reporters haven't even heard of Mozilla.
