Title: V6 and connecting to BT
Post by: Arctophile on Feb 01, 2010, 16:43:30
I am not sure if many people have noticed but, that font of all knowledge on 2700HGVs, the tripod site has been revised recently.

http://bt2700hgv.tripod.com/ir1002700HGV.htm

The revisions describe a method to stop the router from regularly connecting with BT.  I have tried the method and, indeed, it does seem to have worked.

I never liked the idea of BT being able to update MY router without my permission.  If any worthwhile software updates to V6 are ever made available then the changes can be reversed to allow the router to contact BT and so collect the update.

There is no end to the deviousness that amateurs use to overcome technical hurdles.  :thumb:
