I want one ;D
Fair makes you drool, doesn't it, Steve. ;D
He's 40 years behind the times, James T Kirk had them in 1969 ;D
 :karmic: - beam me up, Glenn. ;D
:thnks:
Not sure it would much use for me except at home where I don't need it! The lack of 3G locally is going to save me money.
Not for long though, that mast nearby, will be upgraded soon ;)
Who do I contact? ;D
3? ;)
I wonder whether you can plug in your dongle?
Now that is asking for trouble, Steve. ;D
Please form an orderly queue with your suggestion guys.

Also Vodafone, T-Mobile or O2, they are all trying to increase coverage

And how to load an application that comes on CD?
Presumably wireless networking?
Third party apps Glenn! Mr Jobs surely won't be too happy with that.
I've just had a thought that may appeal to the book readers. Make the iSlate out of 2 A5 hinged screens, let it display a book page on each screen, to turn a page, close the screens togeher then open them again. What do you think?
How long would the hinges last?
Longer than the current screen if you drop something on it.

I'm the ideas man, hinges are your problem ;D
;D
I wonder what they're going to charge for this? Tempt you with a 3G contract I suppose. Interesting that they're using their own processor :eyebrow:
I did see a under $1500 price mentioned a little while ago.
:eek4:
more dumbing down of the computer space in my opinion. They do look nice though :) I just don't see the point, aside from it being yet another accessory people might like, are they needed? Is there likely to be much demand for these tablet/pad devices?
From the gadget freaks, So, probably yes. I'd like one because it looks nice, but there's no way I'd buy one.
I can imagine my son wanting one, but me probably not. I don't think I need something between the smartphone and the laptop.
it seems to be to just be pc without a keyboard. They conquered the world with the iphone, cant see it happening with this, and the price, OMG, i'd rather lose a paper anyday.
QuoteI don't think I need something between the smartphone and the laptop.
Same here, is this all it's meant to be?
Prices start at $499 -$829, the 3g version will be unlocked and take the micro GSM sim, ships 60 days or 90 days 3G
It's just a big iPhone. ;D :out:

You could play swing ball with it, or mug people, what a pathetic device ill stick with what I have, although I do agree netbooks are underpowered, but tablets are not the answer, maybe in hospitals I can see a place for specialised ones, places like that, but this....naw
