I have been lucky enough to get a Magic Mouse as an early Christmas present. What a cool mouse! So much nicer than the outgoing Mighty Mouse.
Has anyone else got one of these? :)

I got one with my new Mac, Sebby, it is pretty good but it's like a part of you hand, shame it eats batteries, gone through two sets since I had my mac delivered :(
What's special about it?
I believe it has rate sensors in it to detect movement, like smart phone have.
So when you get frustrated and throw it, the monitor ducks? ;)
;D

Its touch sensitive, Rik, no wheel, you can scroll sideways and swipe forward and backwards pages as well, and speed scroll all touch sensitive, like a capacitive screen but not, its really very useful and works very well, also bluetooth its also for lefties or right handed, fits well in the hand.
Sounds good, Gary.

;D I must admit I was dubious, but it works so well now I could not go back to a normal one, you can adjust the speed of the acceleration of scrolling and all the usual.

There is something incredibly satisfying, aesthetically, about Apple problems. They've engineered the hardware and then they've styled it. A bit like an E-type Jag. :)

Lurking around macrumors in anticipation of tomorrow's tablet release and found this piece of well rated software called magicprefs,it adds increased functionality to the Magic Mouse, you can find it here (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/magicprefs.html) on the Apple website.I'll try it myself once I can prise my wife away from the iMac .
There is also another similar application called Better touch Tool , to be found here http://blog.boastr.net/
Seb will be downloading it by lunchtime, Steve. ;D :thumb:
So, were you? ;)
Nope. I like things "standard" these days. :)
Faints in amazement... ;D
It would be no good for me. I tend to tap my fingers and stuff. This poor little mouse would get so confused with me. :P

Tapping away does not confuse it, it still has a click mechanism for well clicking, its just the gestures and they are specific

I hold it with fingers either side and you just use your fingers on it, its like having mouse gestures in opera built into your mouse, so apart from moving it you the rest you do with your fingers no buttons no scroll wheel it feels great and is very intuitive, sleeps when not in use. you forget you are holding it really.

There are some windows drivers here (http://blog.wedigital.com/post/How-to-get-Apple-Magic-Mouse-Scrolling-working-in-Bootcamp.aspx) but unsure of the functionality.
