I just thought I'd post to say thanks to IDnet for the phone service they're providing me. Faultless transition from BT and I'm saving money left right and centre by using IDnet, with no reduction in quality.
On a side note, a friend of mine phoned BT the other day to tell them she was going to cancel and they dropped the price of her internet & phone package. It makes you wonder what they're up to if they can do that, but never offer it.
Standard retention policy for many companies, Niall. Glad you're enjoying the phone service, I've not regretted the swap - at least I don't have to call Bangalore if there's a line fault.

I'll echo that Niall. :) I moved my phone to iDNet a couple of months ago and the transition was absolutely faultless. In fact it was so faultless that I had to ring support to confirm the transition had been made.
I can't say I'm saving a lot of money since I'm not a heavy user, but such savings as there are, will be outweighed by not having to deal with Bangalore if there's a fault. Support will have that pleasure unless they can deal directly with OpenReach... ;D
No, they phone Bangalore for us. ;D

Oh joy! They have our deepest sympathy. Does the same apply for broadband faults?
It does, unless they need to escalate. If you ever meet someone from IDNet in a bad mood, it probably means they have just got off the phone from Bangalore... or me. ;D
Most likely the latter

And BT wonder why ISPs are looking at alternative networks.
At least they're beginning to take note, Tac, and from the signs we see at places like TB, they are mounting a 'charm offensive'. There's only one reason for them to do that, and it's their balance sheet.
I was looking at this. I understand the prices but I can't see how you pay for what you have used. With BT I just pay by direct debit and get a bill every 3 months.
You pay the line rental in advance and the call charges in arrears on a monthly basis.
Cheers mate
NP. :)
Or you pay the line rental for the year and get a discount and then pay the call charges by direct debit. That's what I do anyway.
Same here. Shame I can't avoid the VAT on the charges. :)

I'm not a heavy user either, in fact I'd wager that I use my line less than you :D I make at most 3 calls a quarter! BT were charging me £56 (I think that's what the last bill was) with less than £0.50p in calls made. That was the final straw for me. With IDnet it's about £10 a month :)
And the broadband tax at 57.75p/month, not the 50p the government spouts, as the conveniently forget about the VAT on top.
