last night my default noise margin was set to 15 for some reason. i've not had any disconnections since i got my new router etc
i've had a default NM of 12 for ages. we just had a power cut, rebooted the router and now the noise margin is back to 12.
???
Maybe the noise level was lower earlier, so the reported margin drifted up, Paul, or maybe it was just BT...
well we are meant to be getting adsl2+ this month (says when i log into idnet's site)
its just weird that last night i rebooted the router and synced with a 15 noise margin, i tried a reboot again and same happened and now its back to 12.
BT had me on a 3db margin for several weeks, then went back to 6db, it was stable at that for 3 weeks, so they raised it to 9db. They move in mysterious ways. :shake:
All i can say is that they was doing work last night. Power just went again and i rebooted the router and it connected at a 12 margin.
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6752 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 39.0 db 24.5 db
Noise Margin 11.6 db 26.0 db
On the other hand, i dont know what the hell they are doing with the power tonight, thats twice its gone.
Is it a 12dB margin that you usually have, Paul?
