can you do a BT speed test..
Your line looks solid enough, would you be able to post the results of a BT speedtest?
Also, have you done a virus / spyware sweep recently?
http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=17595.msg419573#msg419573 I think for some of us all is not well perhaps they are related. Myself, things have improved since earlier back up to about 2/3rds of usual performance .Congestion?
i done a bt test bout an hour ago it was around 3.7meg-ish.
normally its around 6.4meg most of the time, 3.7meg is still good and strange my browsing seems slow.when streaming hi def videos they are fast as they always have been so far on idnet but its just the page loading and response from clicking links on pages that is slow
is there any routers settings maybe that need to be changed to make page loading better?
yeah that was my first thought simon so i done a full scan with mcafee which reported back nothing found.
there have been bt vans around my town alot in last month or so doing work on the boxes so maybe that could be cause?
We need to know what the profile was, given during the BT speedtest. :)
sorry throughput is 7000k
That's not the profile - or is it? :dunno:
Have you tried another browser, just to eliminate that possibility?
yeah thats what comes up just before the test starts
appear to have lost a third of my speed now too.
actually seems to be the wireless that i use thats causing it,as wired connection seems fine when browsing, but im not sure what is causing the wireless problem.
(//)
so its wireless prob but now my speed has been cut too, even on wired

Is your wireless connection secure? It really would help if you could do another BT Speedtest and copy and paste the results here, as what you've said so far isn't clear. :)
Edit: Sorry, didn't see attachment on my phone.
I've also notice sites being slow (esp facebook and twitter) but i've put that down to them.
I'm still seeing the legacy of the LINX failure, Paul, at least that's what appears to be happening.
Download speedachieved during the test was - 6569 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7000 Kbps
that was done couple of minutes ago
changed to mozilla firefox which is alot more responsive (thanks simon :thumb:) things seem faster now and download speed looking rosy again :melike:
i will try and explain what was happening quickly,id type in an address and id hit enter and look at the router and it wouldnt flicker furiously as it should do just a single flash here and there(router thought pattern :conf:  :master:) and then finally it starts flicking furiously and the pages would finally come up.
my wireless is on wpk2 or is it called wpa2? one of them two ???
i am in an area of old people so unless i have a retired hacker in the area then i think that setting is reliable?
The wireless security should be fine, so the fact that your BT Speedtest looks fine, and your browsing speed has increased by switching to Firefox, has to indicate a problem with Internet Explorer. You could try some of the suggestions in the link below, or better still, stick to Firefox. :)

I'll second that. :)
