Just back from 5 weeks in Spain and back here the trusty 2700 has remained solidly connected to IDNet for all of that time. Can I tell from a traceroute or ping if I am being routed that way now, or would I be better disconnecting and then reconnecting. On Home Max by the way.
Thanks.
Tracert to www.idnet.net, JB, though if you've remained connected, you're probably still on a central.
Here you go Rik:-
C:\>tracert www.idnet.com
Tracing route to www.idnet.com [212.69.36.10]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 <1 ms 1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.2
2 24 ms 21 ms 21 ms telehouse-gw2-lo2.idnet.net [212.69.63.55]
3 25 ms 23 ms 23 ms telehouse-gw3-g0-1-400.idnet.net [212.69.63.243]
4 24 ms 21 ms 23 ms redbus-gw2-g0-1-331.idnet.net [212.69.63.5]
5 23 ms 25 ms 23 ms redbus-gw1-fa2-0-300.idnet.net [212.69.63.225]
6 27 ms 23 ms 21 ms www.idnet.net [212.69.36.10]
Trace complete.
Maybe I'm the only one left
Probably not. The first hop is likely to be 51 or 99-102 if you're on the hostlink.
:iagree:
You'll need to drop the PPP session to get onto the new hostlink. :)
Thanks both.
Edit: Have now dropped the PPP session and back up with the first hop IP ending in 51.
My PPP must have been connected for the 5 weeks while I was away.
