Title: Noise margin puzzle
Post by: JohnH on Nov 15, 2009, 17:32:58
Before my connection was transferred onto the new host link, I used to be able to tweak the noise margin right down, using DGTeam. However, now I can't get it below about 8db, which costs me about a 1MB on speed.

Any ideas?

John

It may be a limitation of IPStream Connect, John. Drop support an email.

Rik, it always worked a treat before the change onto the new host link. Could that possibly have made a difference, do you think?

I think Rik's right about IPStream Connect.

That's what I just said, John. ;) I'm not sure why, though, as you're still connected to the same DSLAM. It might be a software update on the latter of course...

Thanks for your thoughts, chaps.  :)

I think I am going to uninstall DGTeam and see what difference it makes - if any - going back to the default Netgear firmware.
Dependent on the outcome, I'll pick Support's brains.
