I have a couple of questions regarding this announcement.
Which services will this benefit or is it across the board?
Is it anticipated that this will reduce latency figures during peak periods?
Thanks.
Across the board for Max services, Zap and, hopefully, yes.
Thanks Rik :thumb:
hope i get moved over soon, well in time for modern warfare 2 ;) hehe.
plus its getting really annoying having to reboot the router every time i want to do something that depends on a low ping and now having the thought in my head "should i reboot, what if my connection don't come back up again?"
From modem-router admin login try a disconnect then reconnect. This is same as logoff/logon. With another provider I was with, this used to help find a better route and reduce pings. The benefit is you do not need to reboot and risk trashing your sync. Do not know if it will help much with IDNET.
Just did a reboot, also did a before and after ping to IDNet, see pic.
Best ping I've ever seen in two years with Idnet. :thumb:

:thumb: Phew. ;D
My pings seem to have been a lot 'calmer' today. Had a bit of a blast mid morning but have now settled to 35-40 so am keeping my fingers crossed :fingers:
Try your legs, Ian, it may not work any better but, if done correctly, the pain takes you mind off the ping times.
My pings were identical before and after rebooting the router (28ms to idnet). The only difference for me is I lost 300k of sync :(

Noisy time of day to resync.
Nah - SNR jumped from 6 to 6.5 - my line is stable at an SNR of 2.5.

I have been told by Brian on support that I am on the new Hostlink (I think he did it manually his end as my internet went off for a couple of minutes and re-connected and then his email arrived). Initially I was getting 6.35Mb/s which is down from my normal 6.7+Mb/s but I am awaiting for BT to turn off interleaving some time tomorrow. In the meantime my dl speed has just tumbled yet again with a very slight increase in upload, and with the same ping.

Compare that with my normal speeds in my sig. prior to all the problems I have had recently.
I am going to await the outcome of a reboot later tomorrow and if nothing improves, I am afraid I will be asking for my MAC. I have just about about had enough. It has been a constant hassle.
