Title: Migrating traffic to new Host Link connection from BT
Post by: Simon_idnet on Nov 02, 2009, 10:56:41
We've had confirmation from BT that we can now start to move traffic off of our old Centrals and onto the new Host Link. This should not cause any disruption or downtime for any customers. We'll post again when we've made some progress.

Regards
Simon

The process is progressing smoothly. We're seeing new PPP log-ins coming in over the Host Link. Therefore, traffic is building on the Host Link connections and falling on the Centrals.

Rebooting your modem/router (if you have standard ADSL) will get you connected onto the new Gigabit links.

Simon

Great! When we close up for the day, I'll reboot the routers. :thumb:

I have done, and for a minute I thought the PPP wasn't going to come back up. Not good when the credit card machines run through the broadband. :)x

I don't know about others, but my connection is now almost unusably slow; pings in excess of 100ms and throughput of 300k on 8Mb sync. :eek4:

212.69.63.59, but this is following a second PPP reboot. It was something 99 before. Both times the connection is almost unusable. Think I might need to get onto IDNet...
