I had a router re-sync with that error, but Google isn't throwing up much to my addled brain.
Sorry, you won't be surprised to hear that I can't help. :)
;D
But at least you replied. :-*
I get all sorts of strange errors, but I haven't seen that one as far as I know
Not many seem to have. :(
I used to see it, Rik. Iirc, it's a Direct Memory Access issue with the router (as opposed to it being some noise or line issue).
Not seen that one Rik
DSLreports (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r18749238-ERRDMA-in-DSL-Diagnostics) have a thread on this and many other forums have the same error reported.
Thanks, Alan, it seems no-one is sure what triggers it.

I remember reading this thread!
Rik,
In my experience the 'ERR_DMA' is reported as the exit code when the line loses synch because of signal loss e.g exchange fault etc.
My significant experience with that error is that your router is having a very slow death. Mine was coming up with it regularly, sometimes several times a day, sometimes not for 2 or 3 days.
I tried clearing logs, but that didn't help. What did help was not using the connection and what made it worse was using torrents so I put it down to the number of connections going through the router.
In the end I swapped it for my spare and haven't seen it since!
Thanks, guys, maybe time to get one of the spares out. ;D
I've got a few if you get desperate. :)
;D
Thanks, Seb. I've got two 'good' spares and one with the 12-day re-boot issue. Plus a couple of Netgears... ;)
I knew that one with the PSU would come in handy one day! ;)
:)x
OK, who put a hex on my router, I had the err_dma error last night?
Don't look at me, I wasn't here. ;D
I managed to bag an unused 2700 for £7.99 delivered yesterday, hopefully it will arrive tomorrow
:fingers:
Great deal!
It hasn't arrived, the postie has been and gone.
:'( Maybe it's on a van?
Sorry to resurect an old thread but I've starting getting the 'err_dma' exit code...
Dead or dying modem ?? Or something else.... If so any recommendations for a replacement ?
Cheers
Sorry, not see it on mine.
Lance's post below suggest symptoms of a slow death,if your happy with the 2wire its the cheapest replacement, otherwise do you need g of N wireless?

Steve,
Guessed it was a slow death...
Only need something to run one laptop wirelessly - no playstation / xbox / iphone etc. Would go for another 2wire if they could be had commercially and not on flea bay. This one took 3 attempts and returns to Digi Dave to get a working one !!!
What do you think of the Netgears ? Specifically the DGN1000. Seems a reasonable price from Dixons / Argos . PCWorld.
Cheers
The Netgears are generally ok especially the DG834g v4 but hard to find now. No knowledge of the DGN1000,from the info its half N at 150Mbps wireless speed, we have members with the 2 aerial version the dgn2000 who are happy with it, the lack of the additional aerial may reduce the the wireless range somewhat.
