Title: Service provider
Post by: JD_LincsUK on Oct 11, 2009, 12:10:02
Hi all

I'm about to sign up to an ID Net broadband and phone package, but I have one question that I need answering before I make the leap (and my MAC to arrive...).

I am currently with adsl24 on WBC and whilst they have been very good for the last couple of years, they are subcontractors of Entanet.

Unfortunately, Entanet have been oversubscribing and consequently the connection speeds for the majority of customers have been pretty dire for a while now. adsl24 are unable to do anything about this - which is a shame as they are a dedicated bunch of blokes, always willing to help. People are leaving in droves due to Entanet's policies.

So I'd just like to be sure that ID Net is not also a subcontractor or has any connection with the Entanet service, otherwise there would be little point in moving.

Thanks.

JD

Idnet is in no way connected with entanet :)

 :welc: JD and :karma:
I can confirm that Idnet are not a reseller, they operate their own network and do not have any connection with Entanet. :)

After day three phone them up and remind them they have an obligation to provide it within 5 days. :)

It is a process which takes only a matter of minutes, or even seconds!

Yeah - it's been 4 days - though I guess weekends don't count. In fact I asked for it Thursday, but for some reason that got ignored, so they are saying I asked for it Friday evening.  ::)

They're pretty desperate to stop people leaving at the moment as the problems they have are not of their making. But that just means more reason to leave AFAIC.

I was previously with Waitrose - reliable service, good tech guy, once you managed to get his name, but a 5GB limit and £1/Gig thereafter. They gave me my MAC straight away on the phone. Then sent me an e-mail saying it would take at least 24 hours to send me my MAC...  :nocomment:

Hope to be joining you all very soon.  ;D

Yippe-dee-doo!  ;D

MAC still hadn't arrived today - phoned up, got it inside 10 minutes.... IDNet app filled, waiting (im)patiently by my e-mail Inbox!

(I think you misunderstood, bpp - Waitrose was my previous ISP, adsl24/Enatnet is current and IDNet is the future!!   :ok: )
