Speed testers don't always tell you the truth. ;)

Which one is nearest the truth though?

MK & Maidenhead are close enough to be explained by load variations, and fit my profile more closely. The London server (Namesco) is over-optimistic on d/l and can't yet cope with WBC upload tests (yet can cope with Max premium, which is odd).

Odd what you say about the Namesco server, as it gives me the best upload speed out of the 3, at 0.94Mbit/sec. Milton Keynes one looks like it's suffering badly and only gives me 1/4 of the speed in both directions.

Hence my belief in never relying on a single speed test, Matt. No-one site seems to work well for everyone. Others have noticed the upload speed issue on the Namesco site, btw, so there's something odd about that test.

Doesn't it depend how far away you are from the server you're using to test?  :dunno:

That will affect ping times, Simon, but it really shouldn't impact throughput.

I seem to get the best results from MK.
