the problem we are finding is my router with my login details is pluged into her line on a completely different exchange and it still works
hmmmmmm
Don't you just love the fact that user names and passwords are authenticated after the telephone exchange.
They're authenticated at the BT radius servers, Colin.
yea now the question is how do i stop danni using my bandwidth
Get IDNet to reset your password. ;D
ok how do i stop her without losing internet access as im using it to
im thinking cabling ties
Much more difficult, Colin. MAC address filtering in the router?
I'm thinking a pair of scissors...
I find a scalpel is so much more efficient, John. ;)
For cutting Ethernet cables? A little surgical, isn't it? :P
hmm MAC filtering sound good but im too lazy to do it.
and john it would be your RJ11 cable your cutting
and thanks for the support Rik
hmmm that would kind of kill someones internet and i was thinking you were going to use it to get out of the cable tie hand cuffs i was going to make for you :dunno:
Scissors work on cable ties too, Colin ;)
but if your handcuffed with them how are you going to use the sissors hmmmmm :clever:
Wedge them in a drawer? ;)
good idea Rik there not at the keyboard at the moment so feel free to suggest a couple more >:D
 made him run to his keyboard so fast i think his pants are still in the corner
That was a mere canter, Colin :D

Dang my use of the english lanuage makes it 1 - 0 to John darn you
Rik care to translate for a lowely pessent such as meself
What is this thread even about? :)x
It's not good to have two routers logging-in with the same credentials at the same time because they both then get assigned the same IP address and if you have two end points live at the same time both claiming to have that IP address then neither will receive complete routing.
Simon
So does this mean I can use my username/password on any idnet adsl enabled customers phoneline?
I think so, Steve, but wouldn't guarantee it.
Much better to use someone's bandwidth than your own (legally of course) :)
Of course. ;D

when we did the evil testy we basicly unpluged my router and took it to dannis and pluged it in so that i couldnt be online with my own details at 2 seperate places.
As we have accidently done that before while i loaned danni my spare router while she was doing testing. which caused the error you were talking about simion as the network didnt know which line to send the data to.
