Title: Location

Would you consider it a good idea that when members post of broadband probs they also indicate their exchange or town. This would obviate the usual 'I've lost my session 3 times today' from someone in Aberdeen which is met by the completely useless answer of 'So have I' from somebody based in Cornwall.
If this suggestion were followed then it would give IDNet a head start on any hot prob exchanges etc., and they could possibly advise that xx exchange was the subject of BT vandalism or similar.

It is a good idea, but some people like to have a greater degree of anonymity in this day and age, I for one will not be handing out my exchange name for that reason

I'm with you, Rick, but as Gary says, some people prefer to remain more anonymous.

Would a county suffice?

Not always, Glenn.

would that be due to the way BT wired the country?

I agree it might be useful in some circumstances, as would indication of ISP (if not IDNet), but of course, we fully respect members' rights to privacy.  :)

Effectively, yes, especially with the 20 WBC nodes, Colin.
