Hi all,
Does anybody know how long it takes to upgrade? I'm currently on Home Lite but I'd like to upgrade to Max. I normally pay on the 23rd of each month, but realise that the counter starts on the first of each month. If I upgrade today, when will it be active? Will the counter start from this month or next? The reason I ask is that I am already near my limit of 5GB (I know it's only week 1!) and would like the new limit of 30GB to start from this month so I don't incur the extra charges.
Thanks for reading.

I believe that the switch can be made overnight, but I'm not 100% sure.
I switched before and it was done before the call finished!
I seem to recall that was my experience as well, Lance, when I switch to the Max package.
Thanks for the replies so far. It looks like the upgrade is quick. Does anybody know if the new download limits are effective immediately? Or do I have to restrain myself until next month :red: ?
Hi, and :welc: :karma:
I believe that the allowance is renewed from the 1st of each month, so if you have used 5Gb now, and upgrade to Max tomorrow, you will theoretically then have an extra 25Gb to play with, until the 1st of next month. I'm not sure how the charging works, but one would presume it's proportionate. Someone will correct me if that's wrong, but the best thing to do is call IDNet in the morning, and they will do the switch for you more or less there and then. :)
As the switch is only a billing change as oppsosed to a BT product change, that is why it is instant. As for the bandwidth, I'm pretty sure what will happen but as has been said beat to double check with support. I don't want to give out duff information!
Will phone in the morning as suggested. Thanks for all your help and lovely welcome :)

Welcome aboard. :welc: :karma: I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the results of your phone call. ;)
Just thought I'd let everybody know that I phoned this morning and am now upgraded. My new 30GB limit is also effective immediately ;D
Thanks to everybody for all your help.
Now I'm off to download a film or two...
I thought that would be the case. :)

That's good to hear, now don't go using it all up in one night. ;D
I think you maybe to late with the advice, Ray.
I fear so, Glenn. ;D
OI I'm still here!
I'm keeping a close eye on my download usage. Don't wanna get caught out again!

You might want to run an app like NetMeter or the ThinkBroadband equivalent, as it will give you a real time indicator of how much data you are using.

The rss feed from IDnet website does a good job too. :thumb:
It does, but only once a day. :)
