Just gone off here for the last 20 mins or so... No loss of sync, but PPP dropped with the error incorrect username/password.... ???
Anyhooo... it's back now.
Odd. ??? Call support - they will be able to see the event and have a better idea of what's happened.
IDNet can see the BT radius server logs for your drop, you also had one on Wednesday. It looks like the PPP session dropped, and your router immediately tried to re-connect. Because, effectively, you had a live session as far as BT were concerned, the new login attempt was rejected. After 15-20 minutes, the session clears with BT and you can then log in again. If you're in a position to call support while it's happening, they'll be able to get a better idea, but in the meantime it would be worth updating the firmware on your router and, if you can, trying an alternative router.
Thanks Rik for the info.
I've been having trouble with my router lately - it's an old Draytek 2600 (circa 2003). It tends to lock up when using LogMeIn remote desktop -i.e. the whole router needs a hard reboot as nothing works and that was the case for the Wednesday drop.
Today's drop was different. No router lock up, just a PPP drop. I wondered if it was something more widespread, hence the post.
I think the Draytek might have to be consigned to the annals of history depsite its very faithful service - it also doesn't support ADSL2+ and there are no further firmware updates. I have another IDNet account on WBC using a Netgear DG834 v4 which is proving great. Might go for that at the office too (but maybe not WBC just yet!!)
;D
I know what you mean...
