Title: Adobe Flashplayer
Post by: Den on Aug 22, 2009, 17:58:55
Adobe flash player 10 is it free as it seems to be asking for credit card details when my neighbour tries to down load it.

It is indeed free, Den, there's no way it should be asking for credit card details, he's not got a virus or anything on his machine has he?

Free and downloading here without any issues Den, it was updated a while back, so its possible if your neighbour did not update it that he may have got a virus

Either that, or they're trying to download it from a rouge source.  Get them to get it via http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and there shouldn't be a problem, unless, as has been said, they already have a virus.

The player is free. Are you clicking on the Adobe suite for making art/programs/flash files?

I agree with Simon. Point them to the official page - it sounds like they may be looking at a site that is trying to con people out of money.

It looks as if the link he had was pointing towards a rouge site. He ran Kaspersky full scan and no virus' were found. Downloaded flashplayer and all seems well.  ;D
