Has anyone managed to do this test today? I don't normally have a problem with it but can't get a test today, keep getting error message.
Fine here:
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Your DSL connection rate: 3864 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 760 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 3000 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2764 kbps
No problem here, Noreen, but I'm still on Max, my throughput speed is pretty dire to what I normally get though.

Ouch. :o
What does it mean when you get the Error message, can anyone explain?
It just seems to be an inadequately resourced system, which throws out error messages when it's overloaded. :(
Strangely, I've just managed to do a test on my fourth attempt. ;D

Ouch. :o
Ouch indeed, Rik, yet I've just got this result from BBMax tester
here (http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/results.php?t=1250248452&v=7616192) :conf:
Try TB, Ray and go for the best of three. ;)

It's almost like a stuck profile which isn't the one being reported. :shake:
This is probably more like it, TBB results (http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results/id/125024482226359130988.html) :)
That's a fair old spread of speeds, isn't it, Ray. :( I'd let support know.
I've reached the stage that if I can stay connected, I'm pleased, Rik. ;D
I can understand that. It's not how things should be though. :(

This (http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/?exchange=Leire&exact=2152&plugin=vp) is probably why, Rik. :(
They're only six weeks late on the fix, Ray. :shake:
They're probably too busy sorting out the cock up that is WBC, Rik. :shake:
;D
Is that possible.
Lately I've been getting the error message just as the progress bar hits 100% which is irritating enough in itself, but when I try again, it tells me I have to wait three hours before testing again.
:wall:
Don't you just love the infinite number of ways that BT can find to torture us. :sigh:
Working here ok

I have tried to get a result from the BT speedtester over the past three weeks without success, just hangs and I give up after a 10 minute plus wait :dunno: The system is dire and a disgrace, especially when individuals have to rely on this only 'official' outlet for connection information. ::)
I've had one successful test in the last couple of weeks. When I say successful I mean it completed of course, the results are best left unsaid :'(
I very rarely have problems, so I'm convinced that there is not just one test site. However, given that you and Q live at the opposite ends of the country, Zap, I can only assume that most of them are 'under-dimensioned'. :eyebrow:

I agree, I rarely have a problem with it either, is that 'techno speak' for congested or overloaded? Rik. ;D
It's BT-speak for "we're not going to tell you what the real problem was", Ray. ;D

I think the managers at BT would make good Politicians, Rik, they seem to be experts at spin and obfuscation. ;D ::)
Under-dimensioned = insufficient capacity?
Or capacity wrongly configured?
Can't do a test today so far. I did actually get halfway through the speedtest when it came up with the busy message and now it says that I can't have another test for three hours. >:(
Typical, they can't even be honest about errors. :sigh:
Very rarely have problems with BT tester up here near sunny Leeds, Just ran a test.

Stop making me jealous, Ray. ;D
It's only 3.5x faster than my line :sob:
Now I feel sorry I raised it, Glenn, as it's only 2.5x mine. :)

Shouldn't that be (b)raising the steaks, Rik. ;D
Never, Ray, that would be sacrilege. :o
I just found a way of increasing my line speed, but it will cost about £80k, move to Crowthorne

Have just managed to do a test at third attempt. I've actually managed to stay connected for over 30 hours (shhhhh, don't tell anybody!) although my speed is slower than last test.

I suppose it's a least halfway decent. :( Hopefully, you'll be flying again by Tuesday. :fingers:

It's clearly a BT issue and beyond any ISP's control, David. I'm just hoping that this re-dimensioning that's due to be done by Monday evening will actually help you, and others like you.
