Title: Icons.
Post by: maxping on Feb 25, 2007, 10:15:12
Im setting a new pc up at my parents house and the icons on the d/top have suddenly changed from the normal ones to these below.

I can restore but i only have one restore point it says something like "install xp" is it safe to go back to this point?

The pc was bought off the shelf from pc world it was the last one they had and we got a good discount .

I have noticed a AOL icon in the quick launch bar when i click on it i get a new browser.

Could it be something to do with AOL that has changed the settings,if you notice on the screen shot there are AOL icons and all the icons seem to have the swirly AOL theme

Look in control panel, appearance and themes> icons.

It looks like a theme added by AOL...............that is the big problem with AOL,they take over your machine and can be nigh on impossible to remove. ::)

AOL take over your life given half a chance, Dorset. The other thing to try, Max, once you've followed through Dorset's advice, is to install TweakUI (if you haven't already) and do a 'repair icons'.
