Hi
I've just bought an Acer R3600 Mini PC:

to use on my main TV, and also a Keysonic Keyboard/touchpad:

so that I don't have wires everywhere.
Can someone explain why the wireless usb stick won't talk to this computer, but when I try on another Acer desktop, it works perfectly.
There are no obstructions, and the keyboard has clear line of sight with the usb stick.
Both PC's are using Vista Home Premium.
Any ideas??
Drivers? Is the keyboard showing in device manager?
The other thing to check is whether you need to enable USB keyboard support in the BIOS.
yes it shows up in the device manager on the R3600, but nothing happens.
When I plug the dongle into the main desktop, the normal popup appears when I plug it in saying new device found or whatver it is, this doesn't happen on the new pc
Can you try a different USB socket.
I've tried all 5 of them, with no luck, a normal USB wired keyboard works ok
Might be a silly question, but have you got Wireless turned on, on the Mini PC?
Where is such an option to switch wireless on, my concern is that when I plug the dongle in, nothing happens, where as on my main desktop pc, as soon as I plug anything into a usb port, up pops the found device and installing drivers etc window
Does the USB work with everything else? If you check it on the other PC, how much current is it drawing.
All other things I plug in work, mouse, wired keyboard etc
OK, use the dongle on the other machine and see how much current it's drawing.
Delete all the usb devices in the Device Manager and let it re-discover them, then try again.
Just had a brain wave. Although I've not been using it, my wireless video sender (AEI), it was still plugged in and sending signals (next door probably), pulled the wire out and hey presto, my keyboard now works. They were both using 2.4GHz and obviously the sender was knocking out the weaker signal for the keyboard.
Thanks for all the advice guys. Now happy once again
