On top of all the other problems I'm having I now seem to be having a consistant problem with my noise margin.

Noise Margin 3.10 db 15.0 db
This happened earlier in the week, BT's rancid DLM system pushing my noise margin so low my connection won't stay up. IDNet got BT to reset it manually but it's just dropped again and I can't stay connected for more than a couple of minutes.
As support won't be back until Monday and we really need some sort of stability over the weekend does anyone know if there's anything I can do to force the margin back up? I'm going to be bald by Monday
If you're resyncing a lot, Zap, I'd expect DLM to cut in and force your margin up. BT seem to have wired your circuit backwards. Short of using a router which is supported by DMT, I can't think of anything you can do. Drop support an email, James may be able to do something from their end.
Thanks Rik, email sent. Do you know if Netgear support DMT? I've reached a point where I'll try anything now.
I believe some of them do, but not the 834 up to and including v3. Let me Google.
Found it:
Netgear DG834GT/DG834NB/DG834PNB, Netgear DG834G v4 only (need to also enter debug mode for the Netgears)
Thanks Rik, I think I may have a DG834G v4 somewhere, I'm currently on a v5. I realise IDNet thought I was using DMT and asked me not to but I have to get some sort of stability until Monday so I might as well try it if I can find the modem and get hold of the software.

I can't get DMT to recognise any of my modems so I guess I'm stuck until Monday.
Looks like it, Zap. My 2700 loaner is out atm, but if you want to try it when it comes back, let me know.
Thanks Rik :thumb:
My connection has been doing some very strange things over the last few days. I've had to drop power to the router a few times and everytime I do my DSL connection rate and IP profile goes up as does my actual throughput. This is obviously completely at odds with the 'under-dimensioned' space time continuum that exists within BT's imaginary universe but it's getting results.
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Your DSL connection rate: 8954 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 1109 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6096 kbps
If you wish to discuss these results please contact your ISP.
My router stats also appear to think normality has been restored.

I'll stop rebooting now as I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth. After two and a half months of misery I'm almost back to where I was before I migrated to WBC. I wonder if it will last? :hide2:
:fingers:
It makes you wonder if TPTB at BT have any idea what's going on, Zap. :shake:
