Been trying to set up wireless on my new router (speedtouch died :sigh:) it is a Edimax AR-7084ga.
Im on the wireless page of the router but i cant enable the wireless adaptor, I put all the settings in but when i click save, fire fox reports that it is waiting for the router and thats it. :dunno:
any ideas?
None, sorry, Pup. I've never used one. You don't have to do something fancy, as with the 2700s, and use javascript do you?
dunno it doent seem that way. there are jut radio buttons but it wont save
id post a screen shot, but i dont know how to take one!!
Hit Alt+PrtScr, that will capture the current window. Then open a bitmap editing program, eg Paint, and paste into that. Save the image as a file, then post and use the Additional Options button to add the file to the post, maximum size 512kB.
There is new firmware out for it, not sure if this helps http://www.edimax.co.uk/en/produce_detail.php?pd_id=129&pl1_id=1&pl2_id=3

So is that screen shot from the main PC or the lappy?

i can log into the router but it wont save the settings when i try to turn on the wireless
Right. If you'd been trying to do that via wireless, it would have made sense, but I can't see why it won't work if you're on a cabled connection. Is there anything in the manual?
not that i can see, i will double check
Have you tried using IE some routers do not like Firefox
Good point, Gary.

Good point, Gary.
Some were never built to be used with Firefox sadly, Netgear say you should only update the firmware with IE, although Steve has been ok :fingers: or lucky as you can brick it
I even mention it in the stickies, so I really should remember...

I think you have had more than enough to remember over the last few days , Rik.
Especially which way is horizontal. ;)
;D
All working now
last night it wouldnt save the settings,
this morning i couldnt log in to the router :eek4:
so i press the "paper clip" reset button, started doing a pwr up/pwr down cycle :hairpull:
pulled the plug and left it for 6 hrs
turned back on, still cycling
tried a update firmware disc that came with it (even though website says its up to date)
then it started to let me log in :dunno:
put all settings in, quick call to support to check, and here i am
on now ive got a bandwith drain (daughter on lappy!) ;D
Phew. ;D
