Is upgrading to Home SuperMax with its traffic prioritisation feature likely to help with my connection? It hangs off a rural exchange which I think is suffering from evening and weekend contention, not to mention nosediving speeds when Wimbledon and the Ashes are on.
Thanks for any thoughts.
:)
You get the higher upload speed, but what "Priority given at the exchange over standard ADSL traffic" means, I can't answer. Someone will shortly, though. :)
I noticed my pings decrease but only by a few ms. :)
It should help if the problem really is exchange congestion.
But if its worth an extra £10 is another thing, if your exchange is congested you may see an improvement you may not, I asked support about this and they said if your exchange was congested it may not be completely worth it it, best ask them as each exchange varies and they can give the best advice
Is it worth the expense unless your gaming online? , I know it provides a higher upload.

I'm not sure it is really a few ms off a ping and a smallish upgrade in upload speed depending on your line....I think its personally not worth it really.
I'll echo what has been said. It did reduce my ping times by 4ms, but as a non-gamer that had no real effect. It was impossible to judge whether there was any other priority at the exchange.
I was just wondering whether it would improve particularly evening speeds which seem to nosedive, but it seems not.
Thanks for all the replies
:thnks:
