Title: I had a bad Apple
Post by: lozcart on Jul 19, 2009, 21:41:40
My 17" Core 2 Duo iMac that I bought in October 2006 developed a fault this weekend.

Yesterday it developed a cyan vertical stripe on the LCD monitor, tried a restart and reset the PRAM but the stripe remained. I googled the problem and found this had happened to many other users of this model. So I thought relulantly I would have to pay for a repair or get a new replacement.

Before I did this I decided to call Apple technical and see if they could help, after ten mins speaking to a technician and then a supervisor they admitted this was a know fault and agreed to fix the problem FOC. :)

So took my iMac to the local Apple Store today, they checked it, confirmed the fault and have booked it in for a new screen and a logic board if necessary all FOC.

Customer service as it should be, I'm very impressed, well done Apple :thumb:

That's one of the (many) great things about Apple. Their customer service just can't be beaten.

Apple are one of the few firms that care about the customer - it's such a shame that they are so propriety.
