Title: chanced an eBay purchase
Post by: rireed3 on Jul 14, 2009, 10:41:05
Okay, I'm a worrier.

The nice man on eBay reported firmware 5.29.117.6, so I jumped on it.  He had opened it to unlock it and test it on another provider.

How likely is it to have self-updated to v6 without his knowledge?

Thanks,

Richard

Unlikely if he knows that much. :)

I got a response from the seller.

He's flashed it with Singtel firmware to stop it from self-updating.  I'm going back to read Tripod again, but I think I can still flash 5.29.117.6 and set the URL to prevent updating.  Is that correct?

Ahhh, never mind, I just saw the next thread and read the Tripod page.  I'll use 5.29.107.12.
