Don't know if this has been posted before, if so then I apologise. I found it today whilst researching the prices of laptop batteries.

Whilst this is a demonstration and as such it is staged, it does show the importance of only using well designed and built Batteries. For me it's a good reason to avoid cheap knockoff's  :eek4:

3years ago Dell recalled 100,000+ batteries due to fire risk, I believe Sony did the same.

I remember that, and I think that makes it even more sensible to buy "branded" because if the big names can get it wrong, what chance the knockoffs  :dunno:

My laptop battery contains 9 cells !!!

Unfortunately it's quite old now and doesn't retain its charge for very long but a genuine Dell replacement is £117.

It was a major blow for Sony, as, apparently, they also supplied many other manufacturers.
