Title: Bit of a daft question, but what could cause this?

Internet light to go red and I lose connection, but the sync light stayed green?

Most likely is Bt at work or exchange fault, followed by IDNet work or fault. It is basically you no longer being authenticated on the network (losing PPP). As long as it doesn't keep repeating then it shouldn't be a problem.

Is the router losing PPP, a look in the router stats should tell you?

Sounds like a loss of PPP, which shouldn't really happen unless there's been a loss of sync. It might be worth checking with IDNet if they can see a reason for it.

Hmmm...i wondered if it could be the storms that have battered the area tonight, but I've just had a re-sync too.

I adjusted my MTU last night...could that have affected things?

The drops in the noise margin seemed to coincide first with the loss of connection (but no re-sync) and then getting kicked off xbox live a little later on.

edit: just had two re-syncs in quick succession, however the router is re-syncing at the same speed (19438kbps) which is odd as I'm in the 10 day training thingy.
