Hi chaps!
Just curious, we've signed up for the ADSL+2 package but are unlikely to get any speed improvement (we're really after the increased bandwidth). Is it possible to use my existing ADSL router on the ADSL+2 line or would I definately have to upgrade it?
It's an old router - Belkin F5D7633-4
I'm assuming an upgrade in router is required but wanted to check as we're not that desperate for the added 1Mb or so we'll probably get a most according to the IDNET checker ;)
:welcome: :karma:
According to this (http://www.speedguide.net/broadband-view.php?hw=181) it could well work
:welc: :karma:
It's certainly ADSL2+ capable, though some exchanges are having difficulties with some routers. Unfortunately, you'll just have to see. Before your activation date, it's worth updating to the latest firmware (beta firmware, if available). :)
Welcome to the forum, Halfmad!
You've got to be half mad to fit in here, and I'm sure you will! ;D. :welc: :karma:
Welcome aboard, HM. As we traditionally shorten names, would you prefer to be called Half or Mad? :welc: :karma:
Cheers guys, either Half or Mad is fine by me. I hadn't realised I'd never posted as I'd read the forums quite a few times since registering! Over a year since registering.. must be a personal record for me! :P
We'll soon change that. ;D
Could have been worse. Could have been half wit. :)x
I couldn't register that one - says it's already reserved by some chap in London, Gordon something..
You've caught on to the tone of this place haven't you. ;D
