Recently I seem to have been using the majority of my bandwidth on Youtube watching guitar stuff :D
In the last two days almost everything I've wanted to watch in low or high quality just stops dead and won't stream. Are there any issues knocking about that would cause this? I rebooted my router a few days ago when I saw it (I assumed long days in the heat couldn't help) and it was okay, but tonight I just can't seem to view anything after about 30 seconds to a minute as the download/stream just stops.
I'm puzzled as every other site seems to work fine.
Oh I've also tried it logged in and out of youtube just incase it's something related to advert blocking. I've noticed a lot of people complaining about Youtube adverts but I've not seen a single one, so I dunno :D Just thought I'd mention it :D
Okay, now I can't get youtube to load at all :bore: <-- that's an ace smiley :D
which clips you trying Niall and we can give them a go
It's not loading for me either
no just tried too and error message for me.
Same here wont even load
You have broken it,
Its always the same.................better put the plug back in >:D
I can connect to YouTube although it's very slow (over 10 seconds) but I can't view any content at all.
Fine here (on a non-IDNet connection) so sounds potentially like an IDNet issue.
No problems here, logged in ok and can view videos no problem ???
Just got on to youtube 5 mins ago and it was fine, but once again it's stopped downloading. Damn it.

I like this song too :(
Could it be DNS? Worth trying OpenDNS.
As a matter of interest what happens if you ping youtube over a sustained period i.e. ping www.youtube.com -n 50 (from a command prompt)?

I saw him at Knebworth years back when ac/dc Headlined on the Back in Black tour.
That clip is fine for me, Niall, could you run a BT speed test please?

Had similar problems over the last 2 or 3 days :(
Has it improved now, Q?

Has it improved now, Q?
Yes Rik. It appeared that it was linked somehow to the gw5/gw6 problem and rectified itself after me being moved to gw5 :fingers:
Same here. ;)
Sorry for not replying, I've been a bit busy!
It seems fine now, but it was also problematic on my sisters connection (they're on IDnet too) at the same time. Whatever the issue was, it seems to have gone now.
There were reports over on TB that it was the same across many ISPs.
One other thing I forgot to mention was that it was reporting server errors too at one point, although I never noted the error. Possibly a problem with Youtube itself. I noticed that people were posting links to youtube on facebook and they were working as the thumbnail type embedded size, but on clicking through they wouldn't work.
Still I've had my fix of random stuff today, so all is well :D
I've noticed this too of late. Seems ok at the moment though.
btw is this a new board theme? If so then it looks great, very stylish and clean.
Indeed it is. See the announcement (http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=14508.msg340705#new). Thanks for your comments. :)
