Hey guys
I saw it mentioned in another thread that somebody had all their friends family etc. setup on a VNC server for remote assistance help etc.
How easy is this to setup? Anybody mind pointing me to a guide or telling me themselves? Sounds a great idea!

You might want to consider LogMeIn (you can use the free one). VNC works, but LogMeIn is much more straightforward and reliable in my experience, and requires no portforwarding.

I use Logmein myself and it is great, very simple to setup too.
Vnc is fine for lan access but i wouldn't recommend it over the wan, especially if you are going to have it open to more than 1 wan ip address (it's not secure on the free version if open to all the wan). As others have said logmein works will enough and it gets you round nat traversal / port forwarding. One thing to bear in mind with logmein though is that when you logon they won't be able to see what your doing which doesn't help when you are trying to show people what to do etc (this may have changed but I don't think it has on the free version at least). I suppose you could also add something like crossloop to your arsenal. Beyond that logmein is pretty good.
I'm pretty sure the recipient can see what you're doing...
it must have changed then as it always used to lock the screen, anyone able to confiirm?
How about microsoft shared view?
