Is it possible to use my Belkin Wireless Access point to extend the range of my 2700HGV Wireless ??
I have no problem with Wifi, but my kids keep loosing connection.
So I plan to run a CAT5 cable from the 2700HGV downstairs and hang the Belkin at the end upstairs.
Will that work ? Will they need to be on separate channels with different SSID's ??

I can think of four of five members who will be able to help you.
I can tell you how to set the Belkin up with generic guidelines.
Connect via ethernet to PC and login
Turn off firewall and the DHCP server. - Clients allocated and protected by the 2700 HGV's
It needs to have a static IP outside of the DHCP allocation range of the 2700 HGV to avoid conlicts.
This sets it up to act in bridge mode with all the primary functions being performed by the 2700HGV.
With regard to wireless settings you will need to set a different SSID and probably a different channel to avoid interference. Bear in mind security should be set with a similar level of encryption as access via the bridge will give LAN and internet access.
You should then just be able to attach it to the 2700 HGV without any additional changes (certainly netgears' require no alteration when acting as the primary router with another "router" connected in bridge mode.

So anyone upstairs would connect to the Belkin wireless (eg: SSID: Home-2) ...
and anyone downstairs to the 2700HGV (eg: SSID: Home-1)
Currently all computers, laptops and PSP's !! use Static IP Addresses..
