Title: Telephone add-on Packages ???
Post by: karlak on Apr 29, 2009, 15:58:52
Hi All

After a happy relationship with Pipex, a brief one month spell with Sky, and a very short return to Pipex (Tiscali) I have got my MAC code and am looking for a good Non LLU service provider, that will provide the service that I use to get, mainly a 5mb line.

IDNET looks the way to go, but I am a bit confused by the telephone add-on apckages available.  From this page

http://www.idnet.net/solutions/home/phone/

It appears that if I go for any of the "anytime" packages then I only get the 0845 numbers included (as well as standard landline), but why no 0870 numbers.  Paying more money than the evening only package, but getting "less of a deal"  ???

The cost of 087x numbers is too great to include in an Anytime package, Karlak, hence it's only available on the evenings & weekends.

Welcome to the forum. :welc: :karma:

I always use www.saynoto0870.com, you can nearly always get an alternative national rate or freephone number.
There are other sites as well, try google.  :thumb:

Thanks guys - hopefully if I opt for Idnet, they will be able to perform better than this  :'(

I should think you'll get significantly better speeds than that on IDNet, assuming the problem isn't with your line.

Welcome Karlak :welcome:  I migrated from Tiscali to IDnet a few months ago, best thing I ever did :thumb:
I have my phone line, calls and broadband with them, they're not the cheapest but they are reliable, consistent with their broadband speed and IF there is a problem they sort it out pronto, highly recommended. :thumb: I was getting speeds similar to yours with Tiscali, due to poor service and throttling, I now get 4.5mb consistently. :thumb:
