I'm saying this after trying safari (FF was playing up and futuremark's new browser benchmark here (http://service.futuremark.com/peacekeeper/index.action) says it was one of the best performers) but still not convinced..
it looks nicer, but pages are taking a bit longer to load i think, and cpu usage is too too too high some of the time
just wondering if i should go back to firefox, apologise and take it out for a "make up" dinner
I voted first therefore IE8 received 100% of the vote up to this time >:D
It doesn't allow multiple selection, I use Firefox on one laptop, but IE on the desktop
Sorry I meant primary as in favourite browser
A p... p... p... POLL???!!! :eek4: Oh, I forgot, we're allowed them now! :)x
You missed Sea Monkey, so I voted for 'others', as I only use Firefox occasionally on my laptop.
What is the different between seamonkey and firefox?
Sorry, i just always assumed it was a lightweight firefox
anyway, probably worth trying, i tend to avoid addons after my recent adblock incident
how does it score on that futuremark benchmark?
I use Maxthon at work, it is very good, or I think so.
I am using Safari 4.0 beta and FF 3.08. Safari is by far the quickest but not confident about its security at present.
I think I have them all on this PC, but I still seem to stick with Firefox, the AddOns allow me to customise the whole experience.
I even use Firefox on Mac OSx

LIGHTWEIGHT??!! How very dare you!!! ;D
Sea Monkey is what spawned Firefox in the first place, except that it was just called Mozilla then. It's a browser suite, so it encompasses email, and HMTL editor. It's the closest you'll get to Netscape these days. :)
haha
shows how much i know about it
i too am using safari 4.0 beta
may install firefox as my bit on the side until i feel im ready to commit to it 100% again
Firefox 3.0.8 here and will be for a long time to come. It's Add on's put it way ahead of the pack imho.
I found that the addon i liked the most made browsing unbareably laggy (adblock plus)
Which other addons make it unbeatable?

I use Firefox and have done for a number of years now. :)
Firefox here as well. :thumb:
Well, being in Leicestershire... ;D
can we not have two votes :dunno: :dunno:

Adblock is good but yes it seems to make it laggy, but saying that Ive tried with it disabled lately and FF is still slow for me recently.
other add ons I like are Downloadhelper for getting videos and images from sites,Foxytunes which runs with your media player and can control it and get lyrics/videos etc. and I use mouse gestures too.....cos Im lazy ;D

This is true, Rik, don't have much choice do I? ;D
Not until they bring one out called TigerSurf. :) :tiger:
I'm using Opera at the moment (been using it for a few weeks now) and I like it :thumb: I'd used Firefox for years and it was the best (IMHO), but I fancied a change
Avant Browser (much improved, but based upon IE) http://www.avantbrowser.com/
Never crashes, has never conflicted with any site I've visited, blocks pop-ups, has a great set of mouse gestures, better tab handling than IE, all in all I consider it almost perfect.
Based on IE? :ack:

Based on IE? :ack:
Yes. ;D
..and a very accomplished browser it is too. :D
I've recommended it to several friends and all bar one continue to use it, mostly because they no longer have the problems they had when using other browsers to access some sites that were only optimised for IE.
I know it's fashionable to knock MS products - I'm not much of a fan either - but fair's fair: Avant works well.

Now you're talking, Rik. ;D
Firefox for me, IE8 is good for the browsing masses and 100% safer than the abomination called IE6 so I hope people update to it, Safari on windows is very unsafe, and as for Opera, I don't know why but I just do not like it, also its got very bloated I feel. Firefox may have the most security issues but they are very open to letting us know, and they are patched fast, see 3.0.8 for a patch released in a few days, that makes me feel safe, also its open source, how many Microsoft browser vulnerabilities are left under the covers unpatched I wonder?
Voted for Firefox but i use them all and find every browser has there bad / good sides, except ie6, thats just evil ;D
We really need a multiple choice poll, don't we Paul?

Yep! but i dont think you can fit all the browsers on the list that i have installed lol.
You mean we'd need a whole page just for the options? :)
Yep! :D
Think i might remove some this weekend. If only IE6 would die.................................. :rant2:
Try arsenic. ;)

Or a Mac it seems, Rik no nightmare conficker worms to worry about or drive by downloads, or of course maybe windows 7 will be the holy grail
:pig: ;D
of interest. Back to basics :)

not an april fools honest :)
Speaking honestly though. it probably is a lot more secure that anything out there :)
I'd not heard of it before, anyone else?
Nope.
Its like looking at ceefax on your pc, but very safe, if a little dull, but better dull maybe than part of a botnet, I miss images though, but i does seem like we are going backwards slowly to older technology for safety
Fond memories of the BBC Micro. :)

Whatever happened to Sir Clive...
Well, apparently, in recent years Sinclair has become a keen poker player. He appeared in the first three seasons of the Late Night Poker television series. He won the first season final of the Celebrity Poker Club spin-off, defeating Keith Allen. His most recent invention is the A-bike, a folding bicycle aimed towards commuters that weighs 5.5 kilograms (12 lb) and folds to a very small size for easier carrying on public transport.

You mean the old bugger hasn't kicked the bucket after all? ;D
Doesn't appear so. :)
