The appearance of the above site has been changed. The appearance of the final speed report has changed too.

I noticed the report screens had changed a couple of days ago when someone posted here, it looks cleaner
Pretty, but no more accurate. ;)
Just got this on speed.io

Just got this result on the BT test site, so yes Speedtest does still exaggerate.

Oddly enough, it's reasonably accurate for me:

I do prefer the new speedtest.net image. :thumb:

What Glenn said, Bob. When MK was laid out, copper was in short supply and expensive, so we were cabled with aluminium. It's fine for voice and, to be fair, ADSL hadn't been though of then. Now, though, we pay. :(
Yes its way more accurate than it used to be ::) :D
(http://www.speedtest.net/result/439625466.png) (http://www.speedtest.net)
so RIK , east anglia where i am would have been considered "out in the backwoods" , with BT customers well spread out, and therefore we must have been low on the priority list, so much later ,when they did get around to cabling , copper must have been more plentyful, and now we see the result. (now it makes sense)
looking forward , the same must apply with fibre optics, that is, that east anglia will be last to get it!!!! :dunno:
i,m moving !!!!
Of course, the fact that there's a BT research facility and a lot of senior BT bods living in the area may help, Bob. :)
RIK do you mean in my area ???
If you're within 50 miles of Martlesham.
