My cousin is currently with Tiscali. She has read the release from yesterday and asked me which ISP would I recommend. She uses between 1 - 5Gb/month I would think, and currently pays £14.99/month and would rather not pay anymore, so that discounts IDNet's offerings. Her exchange is LLU enabled with 8 operators http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/THBO
I was thinking of pointing her in the direction of O2's LLU service, what do you think?
O2 without a doubt, Glenn.
I agree Rik, however if Tiscali's price does not include vat (don't think it does?) idnet 5GB package is about the same price.
Or there's the PAYG at £14.99 (less VAT adjustment) and £1/GB.
Steve, she did say to me that she pays £14.99, so I took that as inc VAT
I think your right Glenn it does include vat. Quote below from a certain website
Do your prices show the new 15% VAT rate?
We are working hard to update our website as quickly as possible to reflect the 15% VAT charge. Until that time, please note that unless stated all product and services prices shown on our website are currently based on the 17.5% rate, but you will be charged at 15% from the 1st December 2008.
I'd go with O2 LLU.
O2 LLU is great, but avoid the O2 access package which is BT ipstream, its alwful sadly, great customer support though
I have just got back from installing a 2700HGV on my cousin's Tiscali line. She uttered something you don't normally hear "Tiscali have been very good to me" I nearly fell off my seat.
I'm sure that I saw somewhere recently that Tiscali have just been recognised as the "best" ISP. ???
Probably Which?. :P
Best isp for what, though? Driving you up the wall? accelerating hair loss? :)
:hehe:
Good point, Lance!

I read somewhere a couple of days ago that Channel 5's Gadget Show voted Tiswas the best/cheapest telephone company, but don't remember reading anything about them being a decent ISP...

That doesn't explain my problem though. :)
