Can't say I was impressed with the reporter, beige boxes haven't been around for years, to mention but one point. :)
Actually I've not heard the commentary as I don't have a soundcard at work :(
You won't like it very much, I fear, John. Banal springs to mind.
Let's hope he doesn't spring a leak  :eek4:
It's going to get expensive if he does, Mick.
From what I've read, water-cooled systems always leak, and it's only a matter of time... I don't think I'd like a water-cooled machine for the simple reason that I'd be worried about it all the time, and certainly wouldn't like to leave it running when not at home.
I'm a little loathe too, Seb, I'd rather buy a faster processor in the first place. TBH, for my use, it really wouldn't make that much difference.
I've always bean warned that water and electricity aren't a good mix. ;)
Isn't Sam's PC liquid cooled?

I've heard that Sam is. ;D :out:
;D
Everyone else is now scratching their heads and trying to work out what cabbalistic mystery we are discussing. ;)

I don't know but I bet Rik's keyboard is ;D
Actually, I think he has a bucket under his desk. :)x
I don't think that's for purposes of cooling though Simon ;)
;D

All my machines since 2000 have been water cooled, not had a leak yet. To me water cooling is far better, and it keeps my machines cooler. This machine is running a 6600 quad and the bios is reporting a temp of just three degrees above ambient.
The main reason I prefer liquid cooling is that even when running at stock speeds it's just so much quieter. These days the biggest noise factor comes from the graphics card coolers but just stick on a GPU waterblock and the silence returns :thumb:
Long time no see, Tony, how are you? :)

Fine thanks Rik :thumb:
I've been here all the time lurking ( I only log in to post ), just not been posting. Most subjects I have no preference, knowledge or opinion on so I keep my gob shut ;D
Many people wish you'd give me lessons. ;D

Doesn't stop me! ;D
I built a friend a water cooled machine about a year and a half ago, it's still running great. Virtualy silent and his Q6600 quad runs nice at 3.2ghz. (default 2.4Ghz)
I'd do it myself just don't have the time or money at the moment. Just buy quality water cooling kits / componants and things will be fine.
