12:42, for just under a minute?
No not me, just can't access MS support since about that time
It's OK for me, Steve.
Yes, total loss of internet at around that time. Router's internet light went off.. then came back on soon after.
Yes just got back Rik ???
Mine went down around the same time and it still is :(
Yep, it died and just came back up now.
It just came back up.
just saw this after posting elsewhere :) checked router logs and looks like no drop here. but slow as i said in other post
Looking at my ping log, it gives a longer drop out, 12:39-12:42.

It is ok for me now I wonder whether they were related
I don't know, Steve, but it seems a strange coincidence if they weren't.
I lost ppp twice in quick succession, according to the log, in all lasting about 4 minutes.
That's about what I saw, Ann, there was a brief return of service in the middle of my span.
My router retrained at 12.31
I wonder if this was a rolling problem, then?

Looks like it, Rik. ;D
I've had no loss of PPP today but my throughput on the down stream is less than half of what it usually is and more importantly for me my latency is abysmal. What I do find strange is that individual pings to a location varying quite a lot e.g.

If things don't improve, a reboot may help.
Vista> Start search> type cmd> right click on cmd run as administrator then type ping idnet.net. This seems to be more accurate than that speedtest. If pings are high it may be worth a reboot

How that ;)
Good for effort, poor for result. :)
Worth a reboot? unless your worried about the resync and a profile drop
I've just reset the PPP session, Steve, without any improvement.
I only semi understand it but its something else learned and it may help someone or something ;D
Sorry I cant worry about something which isnt having an impact on my life thanks for the tip though :thumb:

You mean you have access to the innermost workings of David's router :eek4:
He has access to my freezer and even the wife has a grin on her face........and I was on nights last night ;D

No need to shout, Seb. :)

It's probably because he's using his mobile, Rik, obviously got a poor signal. ;D

We're still working the routers today to improve our routing.
Simon
:thnks: Simon........................Now thats service :thumb:
Is it worth trying to improve pings with a re-connection, Simon, or best to wait a while?
None of our pipes are congested today. We are quite well balanced, for a change! Once the routes have reconverged we should be back to normal.
S
Well balanced. Hmmm. ;D
Had to reboot,but sorted

I knew I'd done it, but you can't edit using the mobile site. :P
That's a drag. :(
I lost ppp earlier, and then was having a few momentary drop outs in WoW. It's been fine for a few hours now, though.
What sort of time, Danni?
I lost PPP lunchtime-ish yesterday. Gave it 1/2 hour, rebooted (my router can't do this by itself!) and it was fine.
That fits with the general pattern, it hit around 12:40. :)
QuoteI knew I'd done it, but you can't edit using the mobile site.
I know the feeling Sebby I do it all the time,at my desktop.......you will get used to it and others wont mind ;D
watch out for Miss Brodie though in the form of Jill ;)
:hehe:
My connection dropped about 30 mins ago. Only an approximate time as I'm doing my sunday running around like a headless chicken thing, so I'm guessing.
Nothing here at that time, Niall. I lost connection into IDNet, but not the rest of the web, from 14:47-15:00.
I just thought you was off watching Wales outplay Scotland >:D
I know better than to make myself cry. :)

Welcome may help to track any rogue element or localise the issue.... :thumb: :fingers: good luck
I think we need it this week, David. :hide:
It will get sorted out Im sure of this...its related to the new router even I know this,
Tin hats for sale BOGOF
Those who lost all internet access were probably using Idnet's DNS servers too.
That's my belief, Alan. One is behind the router which connects to the 'internal' IDNet network, ie their website, us etc, the other is 'this side' of it. I was getting slow DNS resolution, which fits with the remaining server being overloaded.
