Do you use the signupshield Ray ?
Nothing wrong with u3 in it'self. But autorun being enabled is definately a bad thing, especially with the current big virus doing the rounds.... It's also worth encrypting the device especially if you are going to be using portable browsers etc...

You can get U3 versions of AV programmes that protect your drive, So, Avast do one amongst others.

It's a lot safer to turn off autorun than rely on AV which seems to be failing consistently at the moment across the board.
Just following that advice :thumb:

Thanks again,I have stopped the autorun and am trying  :rant2: to get signupshield, which has attatched to my firefox browser off, itsnot on the IE but its proving a pig to get off,I lookded on their forum and some other users hade this problem and the only remedy was to go into device manager, but that was for XP and this is Vista so Im still searching to get this off..........(as I was at 2.30 am )I know these things bother me though
this help? http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windowsvista/f/opendmvista.htm I'm not a vista user I'm afraid...
I have read so many things about this, and eventually ended up on the Firefox page,so many people cannt get this off it is non responsive and on one page states it is spyware.
Cant believe Im stuck with this.will carry on with it though there has to be a remedy..........if need be I will dump FF and reinstall, saving my bookmarks first.would a scan show this up ?
David, if you want a password manager that works with Firefox and IE have a look at Roboform, I've been using it for nearly 3 years now it's very good, more info and download here (http://www.roboform.com/)
Thanks Ray,be careful with this flash stick..its proving a pain,it the stuff which comes with it rather than the flash stick.Your link might do the trick, the banner itself is harmless Im sure if that its just annoying to see it attatched to the browser :thumb: :thnks: again
:solved: After going through the registry and god knows what, looking at forum with no answers scanning my machine I finally got it off.
Dont ever launch that Ray :thumb: and thanks for all the tips :karma:

Thanks, David, I've just removed it from both my U3 disks so I can't run it by mistake. :)
:thumb: Hope this might save someone else the hassle...and for once it was nothing I had done,so many got caught with the stuff they put on this flash I will just use it as a normal flash stick and the other one I ordered will be returned ;)
Don't you just hate it when software does that to you. :(
Lesson learned Rik.....and the bonus I managed to get it off... :thumb:
As a storage device its brilliant,so fast,it recorded an album last night in approx 30 secs.
Just dont get sucked into the gimmicky free stuff which helps to sell it
I've had several drives (hard and flash) which have come with a variety of software packages and, tbh, I've never found any of them worth having. Perhaps if you don't already have backup routines or whatever they might be worthwhile, but if you're already an established PC user, they are more likely to be a waste of space.
As always I learned the hard way,but no harm done and a little more knowledge ;)
Knowledge is good. :)
Grasshopper ;)
Yes, oh master. :)
