Title: router logs

just got an email about this from my router logs. what is it and how can I trace the address if possible

TCP Packet - Source:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Destination:xx.xxx.xx.xxx - [PORT SCAN]

That's normal, Baz - it's just the firewall doing it's job. :)

There's little point tracing it. The port scan has probably come from an infected home computer!

It's somebody, probably running a script, testing your router's defences, Baz. Nothing to worry about. You could do a whois lookup on the IP address, and possibly report the incident, but in my experience, no-one takes much notice. ;)
