Just returned to the PC and browsing generally is like treacle, with IDNetters timing out half the time. Was OK up to 5pm when I left.
My router;s Internet check is coming up with DNS issues on the first choice server:
Failed Connectivity to DNS Server 1 (212.69.36.3)
May just be the capacity issue?
Timing out is an understatement!
It took 13 minutes to log in to the forum,7 minutes to get this thread open and my Idnet home page still isn't there!
No faults reported on my router logs though.
The other problem this week is where are the emails going cause they sure ain't getting to me. >:( >:(
Tried to get a preview of this post............can't wait any longer.
I am using a forum on a server in Texas, there are 238 people on line and no slow down, this site can't handle 3. ::)
This is my last try here for tonite.
A couple of guys have posted DNS issues on TB.
iv had the same problem, some site have been really slow over the last few days, please sort though my ping has stayed normal so I can still play bf2142 :)
Accessing the forum has got so bad I gave up trying this week........today it is near impossible.
Not a good public face for an ISP . Anyone trying to view this forum while deciding whether to migrate in is not going to be too impressed........if the forum doesn't work how will anything else?
I think IDNet are experiencing dns issues? Perhaps Simon could comment?
struggled a bit earlier on, seems ok for me now.
Part of our hosting network in Redbus suffered a switch loop this evening. We have isolated it and are now invetigating the cause.
Regards
Simon
Thanks Simon.
Tks Simon
Stereo!!!!!!! :laugh: ::)
Mine is fine.... @ 11.24 pm.

Do you have any specific problems, other than this incident, with the forums?
(^That goes for everyone.)
Regarding the speed and ability of accessing these forums; they are (quite kindly!) hosted by IDNet and the IDNetters admin and moderators have no control over how they perform.
That said I would imagine performance for these forums should be pretty good over the IDNet network as the server should only be a few hops away from the broadband routers. Although I do believe the broadband routers are in a different datacentre than the server this is hosted on.

It was dire here until Simon posted that they had it in hand Adam.
Since teatime it's been as snappy as it usually is!
:)
P.S. Nice to see you! ;)

I had found over at least 4 days that it was nigh on impossible to sign in and view the forum as it was so slow/stopped.Yesterday was the worst I think.
took ages to load yesterday, but fine now. :)
