I wonder if that's why some sites are loading bizarrely... Thanks, Ray. :thumb:

I saw that, Ray. They reckon on one break a year, but this is the second. You can't help wondering whether they are going to have to move the cables to a safer route.

They say December 31st will be when it's fixed. No urgency, then!

Does seem to be becoming a regular occurrence, Rik.

They can't even blame Xmas for most people affected!

I've just returned from Dhaka, Delhi and Mumbai and this had no bearing on speed/connectivity. Very odd!

Although speed wasn't great anyway. Stuck on EDGE most of the time at 3k/second.

Long legs and arms! haha.

A few days in each. Mumbai/Delhi being significantly faster than Dhaka (but Dhaka is normally very slow as the entire country is connected by 1 cable operating at 250mbit).

That must have felt like you were on Tiscali broadband. :P

It was quite a good trip. Business tho. I was meant to be in Mumbai for just over a day (time for a meeting AND a quick tour) but unfortunately I was delayed in Dhaka for over 6 hours due to fog/smog! Mumbai is a lovely place and pollution seems less than LA. Smog in Delhi/Dhaka was awful - I don't know how people could live there.

Tiscali would be a dream come true compared with Edge and the most unreliable DNS servers in existance. The also, for some unknown reason, block OpenDNS.

I was also in Dubai on the way for 12 hours and could not believe how many websites are censored out there. We only ever hear about the great firewall of China but there are many countries which block mass amounts of content.

I've also heard about it, but didn't realise it was to such an extent. :o
