Title: Really bad stats/snr graph
Post by: g7pkf on Nov 26, 2008, 09:49:38
Just so you can all see what i have to contend with (pesky trains).

the drop at the start was when BT were "messing about" in the village.

And now you have.

good isnt it?

I have actually narrowwed it down to when the trains go under the bridge (that the lines from exchange to village go under----yes UNDER they are apx 1-2M from the HV train overhead power lines) the bridge is about 0.75 miles from my house/village,,,,thats when the problem occurs.

and its not just me but  "puts techy hat on" i have routerstats enabled and checked 9 adsl connections to village and they all simultaneously have the same problem.

BT get your act together!!!

even Branson would not cable like that....

I thought it was his trains causing the problem, Dean? ;)
Title: Re: Really bad stats/snr graph

It is. (mostly)

BUT BT state we cannot be held responsible for third party interferance.

My thoughts are you put your cables so close to the third party that is what the problem is.

trouble is which came first BT lines or the train line.

Don't suppose you know when the bletchley to euston line was put in?

or hte soulbury exchange.

could be an interesting complaint to BT couldnt it :)

I would have thought the phones predate the trains, which were electrified, iirc, in the late 60s/early 70s.

Bugger.

do you think steam ones would have caused a problem with phone lines?

No thought not bang goes another row with BT  :bawl:

I can remember steam and diesel on the line, Dean, so the argument would be whether BT took adequate steps to deal with the change, I guess. Simple answer for them would be to put in a fibre link. ;D
