Title: Texting from phone package
Post by: g7pkf on Nov 24, 2008, 14:54:50
Cannot find anything about texting costs from the idnet packages, Do they support this?

I get a lot of incoming and make a few outgoing texts via my landline just ensuring idnet support this.

Thinking of transferring existing line to idnet.

And?

I took support calls on the beach in jamaica when i got married (and was on honeymoon)

Talked through another engineer how to restore a mysql database from a backup.

then just got out laptop and did it myself remotely.

When i go to the villa in menorca i also regularly take support calls (really piss***S the wife of though)

some people have no commitment anymore.

also 1 person off and the whole company grinds to a halt? i think not.

very tounge in cheek.

No its my garage---sorry workshop.....sorry to all hams out there shack..

Very expensive shack, just had to disclose to the insurance surveyor the cost of replacement equipment in there.

He said it was okay as even the shack is alarmed. and my premiums would not go up.

His eyes did widen when i said the cost of replacing everything in there was £20K.

Tip to all always over insure if you underinsure they only pay half as they question what bits were covered.

also remember a kitchen is contents insurance as are fitted wardrobes etc.

I just re-fitted one kitchen and fitted 1 new one. surprising how much they cost !!

SO....

these days most people get married to relive the boredom.

and most men get married to stop the nagging of ring on fingure etc....

I hasten to add that was not the case for me, but we she spent most of her time on beach, i spent most in bar (went all inclusive)

I'm very careful to make sure my insurance cover is adequate, Dean. As you say, if it's not, they slash what they will pay out on a claim.

I'm pretty sure that texting will be OK though I don't think we've actually tried it.

Red Stripe is my favourite tipple too.

It's the receiving i have concerns about.

at the moment BT cannot seem to get it right, i have a fault lodged as i type this.

My callerid and texting (received) has not worked for over a week. hence my question.

I would like a confirmation that it will work, as BT do (confirm it will work with atext enabled phone) then when it does stop working i can log a service complaint.

I know it is linked to CID but hey that should be a gaurenteed service shouldnt it?

also BT quote costs for sending a text IDnet do not, "if" no cost is quoted one would assume it's free :)

when red stripe is all you can get (and it's included in the price) you get addicted....

Do you find, though, that when it's 'all inclusive', you don't seem to want as much?  I know, when I used to go out (many moons ago!), with the intention of getting bladdered, it never happened.  Similarly, if you go for one of those 'eat all you can' Chinese meals, you never really feel that hungry.  I'm sure it can't just be me.  :)x

I think the whole "everything on a single bill" thing is quite attractive these days. We all want a simple life at the end of the day. :)

The first reply contradicted itself,,,not posted as i am sure it was a mistake as miriam is away and support are having to type at double/triple speed.  i think by test he really means text!

Hi Dean,

Yes test can be received via the land line to a phone that supports this.

When sending a text from your land line to a uk based land line or mobile the cost will be 8p

Kind regards
