One of the members on my SMF forum is having trouble posting. He is able to post short messages that take less than 20 seconds to type and post, any longer and it times out. He has tried from a different PC and used a different user account but both give the same error. The PC's as far as I'm aware have been scanned for nasties but none found.
Any ideas?
I have seen it happen here, on rare occasions, Glenn, when the member seems to be logged out by the time he hits post. Is he on a 'forever' login and does he retain the cookie?
I'll ask him to try a new password, see if that has any effect.
I do think however that it maybe related to his ISP connection in someway, as no others have reported the same problem.
It's possible, Glenn, we have seen oddities here when IDNet have had an issue, or occasionally with server glitches, but they tend to affect more than one person.
I have asked him to try from another PC away from his home, hopefully we will get an update later tonight.

That sort of thing invariably boils down to a cookie or browser problem, Glenn. We've had it on Pals occasionally too, and it used to happen to me when I had my previous phone, and was trying to post from it. I don't think my phone was handling the cookie properly.
My suggestion would be to clear the browser cache, and cookies, and allow the forum software to set a new one. Make sure the browser is set to allow the cookie to be permanently stored.
Thanks Simon, I'll pass your suggestions on

You can add another 7, according to the latest stats. :)
