Windows 3.X (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7707016.stm) Nice hardware requirement comparison.
I read that earlier Steve, I never used 3.1, my first Windoze was 95.
Interesting read, especially the bit about 3.1 being used in modern aircraft.
:rip:
I remember it well. :)

Though, hopefully, not for the flight controls. :eyebrow:

:eek4: Possibly with Ryanair. ;D
;D
I remember well the hardware costs :eek4: I think an equivalent inkjet is now about a fifth of the price as was when I was using 3.11
Not to mention hard drives and memory, Steve. :)
Ahh 3.11............
Such memories, I think I will dig out the 6 floppies and give it a run in a Virtualbox ;D
I go right back to v1, runtime. :) Happy times. :)
(Of course, it crashed several times a day, but it was such a big step forward...)
I'm still using my abacus :eyebrow:
I gave up on mine after someone said that was making a right colourful balls up of it. ;)
You obviously weren't employing your click-clack properly, In. :)
Amiga Workbench was much better than Windows 3.1 IMO
:iagree: They just made huge mistakes with marketing the Amiga range
Windows 3.1 was such a classic. I can't believe they've only just stopped issuing licences. :o
I wonder how it would feel to go back to it?
I've got an old laptop which is still running it, and it runs just fine, if it does what you want it to why change.
I agree, Bob, though I don't think I'd now use it on the net.
Much too slow for the net, but I did use it on the old bulletin boards at one time.
300baud, everything appearing at typing speed? :)
Those were the days, life seemed so uncomplicated then :ukflag:
No AV, no firewalls... :) Happy days.

Shame the British side of things couldn't do a buy out when US side went tits up as they were running quite profitably, the Amiga was always a bigger success here and Germany than in America
I still have my A500 and Phillips monitor that come out now and again for some Sensi Soccer :D
Just wish i had teh space to keep it set up 24/7 - best machine ever.
I remember seeing the graphics and being blown away by them. It was all so new and exciting in those days. :)

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Mac or Linux. ;) :D
Give them time, Seb, they will. ;D
:hehe:
