My router, (Netgear 834G) reported a loss of connection at 07:00 yesterday, (Saturday) morning. Whatever I tried, I couldn't connect. I left a message on the out of hours helpline number.
This lasted all day and was still off last night. I tried re-booting the router but to no avail.
This morning it was still off but I noticed that now I couldn't access the routers web page. I completely powered it down by pulling the power lead and when it came back up, a connection was acheived :)
Did anything happen yesterday morning, or is my now ageing but so far reliable Netgear getting a touch of arthritis?
Nothing that I'm aware of, Zim. :(
OK thanks Rik.
Must be arthritis then :'( I'll try giving it some Seven Seas.
Might be time for a replacement. Anyone else use Netgear? Mines been good up until now. It must be around 3 years old or so and runs 24/7. Its wireless range is a bit limited but is OK for my wifes laptop which is used just for e-mail and browsing the shopping sites ::)
My line is not ADSL2 enabled as yet but may be in the future. I get pretty good connection speeds of around 7Mb/sec on an ADSL max service.
It also has the latest firmware.
All worked fine from my end, no connection issues.
I moved from Netgear to a 2700, Zim, and have never looked back.
Best go to a physio Rik, they may help you look back.
Or even my back look. ;)

Whats the wireless side of the Vigor like Rik?
BT 2700 HGV (2wire)
What Steve said, Zim. Coverage is fine around the house and into the garden.
Something like this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BT-Business-Hub-2700HGV-NEW-NEVER-BEEN-USED_W0QQitemZ130264356959QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item130264356959&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318) Zim
The 2Wire is a great router. :thumb:
That's a good price for anyone who's still looking to get one too.

It hasn't ended yet Ann.. ;D
Postage is a bit steep, I thought.
I'm another happy 2700HGV user :)
The units are quite heavy, although the seller has probably added a couple of pounds on. At under £20 all in, it's still a good price.
Agreed, especially when you consider how much something like a Netgear would cost.
